Are We All Seeing Through the Same Eye?
A personal AyaWaken reflection on family, shared awareness, compassion and carrying a meaningful ceremony experience into everyday life.

This is a personal account of how I understood a ceremony experience. It expresses a spiritual perspective, rather than a scientific claim or a prediction of anyone else’s experience.
There was a moment in ceremony that stayed with me.
It wasn’t loud.
It wasn’t chaotic.
It was simple… but it changed the way I saw everything.
I had a vision where I saw my father, myself, and my children.
But we weren’t separate the way we normally believe we are.
At first, it appeared as a line.
My father… then me… then my children in front of me.
Like generations moving forward in time.
But then something shifted.
The line didn’t stay a line.
It collapsed… or synced… into one.
And in that moment, it felt like we weren’t just connected—
we were the same.
Not similar.
The same.
All seeing through one eye.
The Illusion of Separation
From the moment we are born, we are taught identity.
“My name is this.”
“My life is mine.”
“My path is separate from yours.”
And on the surface, that’s true.
But in deeper states of awareness, something else reveals itself.
There is something behind your thoughts…
behind your body…
behind your story.
Something that is simply aware.
And that awareness doesn’t feel divided.
One Line… One Source
What I saw was generational—
a father, a son, and the next generation.
A timeline.
But when it merged into one, it showed something beyond time.
It was as if what we call “generations” are not separate lives moving forward…
but one consciousness expressing itself in sequence—
and at the same time.
Like one current flowing through different points.
Different forms…
same source.
Love Your Neighbor As Yourself
It brought me back to something we’ve all heard before:
“Love your neighbor as yourself.”
Most people hear that as a moral teaching.
Be kind.
Be compassionate.
Treat others well.
But what if it was never just a teaching?
What if it was a truth?
What if the reason you are called to love others as yourself…
is because at the deepest level—
they are yourself?
Not metaphorically.
Literally, from the level of awareness.
If we are all expressions of the same consciousness,
then loving another person isn’t separate from loving yourself.
It is the same act.
When Time Disappears
We experience life as a straight line:
past → present → future
But what if that’s just how the human mind organizes reality?
What if outside of this physical experience… there is no time?
Then everything changes.
There is no waiting to be reborn.
There is no strict sequence.
There is just one awareness…
expressing itself in many forms, all at once.
Which means what I saw—
my father, myself, my children—
was not just a family line.
It was one consciousness…
appearing as many.
The Same Eye Looking Back
If you sit with this long enough, something shifts.
Every person you meet…
is no longer just “another person.”
They are another perspective of the same awareness.
Another angle of the same eye.
Looking back at you.
Living With This Understanding
This doesn’t mean you lose your identity.
You are still you.
You still have a role, responsibilities, and a path to walk.
But underneath that…
there is something shared.
So the work becomes learning how to live with both truths:
You are the individual.
And you are the same awareness as everything.
Final Reflection
What I saw may not be something that can be explained logically.
But it can be felt.
And once you feel it…
it changes how you move through the world.
So the next time you look into someone’s eyes…
ask yourself:
Is this someone else…
or is this the same eye…
seeing itself again?
Carrying reflection into daily life
For me, the practical question is how to bring more compassion to my family, my community and myself. You don’t have to share my view.
You can still reflect on what care and connection mean in your own life.
